Here at Best Price Computers Ltd we sell our Poweroid^TM brand of PCs. We are not a rich multi-national corporation. We are a group of PC enthusiasts. The business started in 1995 and was registered as a "Ltd" in 1996. Our hobby is now a very successful business run on sound financial principles.

With our reputation for quality and the numerous awards we receive from the PC magazines we have established this company as one of the UK's main PC manufacturers but a PC manufacturer with some major differences.

Our Poweroid PC range is targeted at the enthusiast market (and the more discerning customers). There is no assembly line, there is no piling them high and selling them cheap. Each PC is a hand-built work of art using carefully selected components. 

What we do:

1. Building PCs and workstations

We specialise in building performance PCs with the latest cutting edge parts. We take great pleasure in carefully configuring, optimising and extensively testing each PC before shipping. We are known as experts on video editing systems, dual processor systems and graphics workstations. We are also well known for offering the kind of features that the more discerning customers appreciate. For example, we use a range of specialist products and skills to build some extra-quiet and low-noise systems without compromising on performance or cooling.

2. Research, testing and benchmarking

To maintain our position as leaders in performance computing we do a lot of benchmarking and testing of newly released components. In fact we probably do more benchmarking than reviewers of PC magazines do. This research pays off when we consistently beat the biggest names in the PC industry in head-to-head tests. We also write our own articles and reviews - featured in several online and offline locations. We provide some free and some paid consultancy work to anti-noise charities, noise reduction lobby groups, and some educational institutions. We sometimes work with manufacturers to improve their hardware products (like graphics cards/cases etc). We don't always get paid for this feedback work but we do often get preferential/priority treatment when new products come out. 

3. Content and websites

We have several websites. Most PC manufacturers' sites just try to sell you stuff. Our sites contain thousands of pages of content, reviews we've written on all manner of PC related subjects, support articles etc. That's why we get more visitors than any other UK mail order PC manufacturer.  

We take pride in the fact that it's not just the Best Price. We are quality certified to ISO 9002 & our legendary after sales service has earned us numerous kudos. In online forums, where customers discuss companies they've dealt with, we rank among the top 2-3 PC companies in the UK.
