   14-day Free Trial **

Most people like to see and try out a computer before buying it. How do you do that when you are buying over the phone? Simple: buy from Poweroid!

How does your money back guarantee work?

Isn't it a legal requirement that you offer a money back period?

Don't others offer the same guarantees?

How do I ensure that I do get a refund if I am not happy?

Why do you not give refunds on machines built to order and bulk purchases?

   How does it work? *

When you buy a standard advertised home PC from us, you would pay us as usual over the phone, and we'd despatch the computer within the promised period. After receipt of the computer you get 14 days in which to decide whether you like it or not.

If you don't like it for whatever reason simply call us to get a return number. Then pack the computer back in the original packaging, enclose a note with the return number and a copy of your original receipt and send it back to us. For your own protection please take out insurance to avoid losing out if your parcel gets damaged in transit.

What do you need to do to ensure you get your money back?

 Isn't it a legal requirement? *

Most mail order purchases are covered by a money back period. Legally, the new European Distance Selling Regulations (2001) say that you can cancel within 7 days of receipt subject to several conditions and exceptions. High value goods and perishables are among the items that are not necessarily covered. What exactly is a high value item? Unfortunately, this is not very clear at the moment.

But why get involved with the small print of UK regulations governing Mail Order trade? Why buy from a company that won't offer you guaranteed satisfaction? Talk to Best Price Computers Ltd. We'll deliver exactly what you ordered, within the period it is promised to you and at the price we quoted. We'll then give you 14 days to decide if you are absolutely delighted with your new PC.

Don't others offer the same guarantees? *

Read the small print on offers from other companies. Time Computers, one of UK's largest mail order suppliers, offers only a 14 day EXCHANGE. not a money back offer. (PC World, Feb99, page 146). Others don't even offer that. Seriously! In fact PC Plus magazine has an article about how most UK PC companies selling on the net are in violation of European Distance Selling Regulations. PC Plus (article # 28426)

We are so confident that you will be absolutely delighted with any home PC bought off our shelves that we will give you a "no-questions-asked" money back guarantee when we deliver one of these computers to you. Simply return the goods to us within 14 days of receipt, and we'll cheerfully give you a refund or credit*. This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights. (Please see below)

PCs that do not qualify for this 14 day free trial

The 14 day free trial is NOT a facility we are required to provide by law. We provide it out of confidence in our products.

Quantity purchases (multiple PCs on the same order) are not eligible for this offer. PCs bought for the purpose of resale or business (including server grade products) are also not eligible for the 14 day free trial.

We do not give refunds on computers built-to-order or standard PCs modified to customer's specific requirements***. It's not because we have any lack of confidence in these machine. They are built to the same exacting standards as the rest of our computers. We do not provide refunds on built to order because in many cases we are buying the parts in especially for the PC you ordered and will not be able to return them to our suppliers for a refund. We would like to give you the same "no questions asked" money back policy on built-to-order computers. We're working on it...so watch this space.

 The Bottom Line

*

Note: This does not imply that machines will be shipped out without payment. We regret that we first have to take payment in full prior to despatch of any computer. Free trial indicates that the cost of the computer will be refunded in full if returned within 14 days subject to standard terms and conditions.  This offer only applies to standard "off the shelf" computers. When paying by card any repayment will be to the same card account only.
