How
do
you offer such good prices? What's the catch? |
There
is no secret to how we offer great value. We've explained it all
at: prices
- and how we do them.

How
can I order a PC from you? Do you offer
interest-free credit? |
There
are several
ways
you can pay for a PC bought from us. No, we do not offer
"interest free" credit. In fact, we believe that "interest
free" does not exist.
You may find that - typically - PCs offered on interest free
options elsewhere cost far more than equivalent PCs bought from
us.

Can
I buy a PC without a monitor, or without Windows?
Yes,
you can. If you already have a licence for Windows you do not
need to buy a copy from us. (Note: If your existing copy is an OEM
copy
then it is not legal to use it on any PC other than the one it
was supplied with). If you already have a copy of Windows
we do
the installation
on your new PC free of charge to save you the
trouble of installing the operating system and drivers. You can
also buy a PC
without a monitor.

I've
heard that support can be a nightmare with smaller
companies. What's
your support like?
A
lot of companies make a lot of claims on support. We
actually deliver.
It's easy to check service promises, and we advise you do it
before you buy your PC. Call the support line of various top
brand manufacturers.
Then call our support. You'll see the difference. Not only do we
have a dedicated support
section
on this website but we have 7 day a week support via a standard
national rate phone number (no premium rates).

Why
should I buy my computer from you and not someone
like Compaq or IBM?
There
are several reasons and one of the main ones is quality. Branded
PCs are built to high quality standards, but yes, we said quality.

When
will I receive my PC?
We
have one of the quickest delivery
times in the UK. We despatch most orders within 3-4 working days.
If, for any reason, we believe that the particular configuration
you want is subject to a delay we will tell you BEFORE we take
your order. Some machines, like high end video editing machines,
servers, and highly customised PCs do not fall under the three
day despatch. Again, an estimated time will be provided at time
of ordering.

Can
you build a PC to order or do I have to buy a PC
from the advertised range on this website?
We
do build PCs to order. However, they do cost more. Unless you
have some very specific requirements you'll probably find that
one of our standard machines fits the bill. If you do need a PC
built to order, please give
us a call
and we'll be delighted to help.

I
don't want to pay the delivery charges. Can I pick
the PC up myself?
Generally,
no. As a mail order company we are geared towards shipping PCs
out. Bear in mind that the delivery costs include the cost of
packing and insurance. It is not in anyone's interest to allow
collection of PCs that are not packed for safe transit. Answers
to other delivery questions.

I've
already got some parts like a CD Drive and floppy
drive. Can you sell me a PC without those bits?
You
can buy a PC without the "externals" (like monitor,
speakers etc). From experience we've found that supplying
semi-built PCs is fraught with problems, so our advice is to get
all the "internals" supplied at time of purchase of the
PC. It's always the
safest option to have all the equipment supplied from the same
source, so there's never a dispute about whose responsibility it
is if a problem arises. Remember that breaking warranty seals to
fit parts also affects your warranty cover with most
manufacturers.

I
am not at home during the day. Can you deliver to
an address different to the registered address?
We
can deliver to any address you specify IF you are paying by
cheque or bank transfer. If you are paying with a credit card or
debit card then, for security reasons, we have to attempt
delivery at the address the card is registered to. But
we have a solution.

How
safe is it to pay by card?
It
is perfectly safe to pay with a credit or debit card. With
credit cards you have the protection that your card company
provides including a refund and insurance. With debit cards you
do not have the insurance but you still do have a safe
transaction. More
details.
