Customers
tend to see ISO certified businesses as credible,
reliable and good on customer service. Adding the ISO
logo to your letterhead, business card, website or
product literature can make a big difference to how
people perceive your company and, therefore, to how
likely they are to proceed with a purchase. Some
government institutions won't place orders with you
unless you have certification.
Even
if you are a one man band you can get ISO certification
for your business. (In fact, the smaller and simpler
your business, the easier it is to get certification!)
But, what is ISO?
ISO
is a network of national standards institutes from 147
countries working in partnership with international
organizations, governments, industry, business and
consumer representatives. It's a bridge between public and
private sectors.

If you're looking to get your company or organisation
certified to ISO standards, we
can help.
The ISO
certifications that you can prepare for yourself:
ISO
9001:2008 (previously
ISO 9002 / ISO 9001:2000)
ISO
14000
ISO
14001
The official body for international standards is the
International Organization for Standardization
but they won't actually deal directly with you.
The ISO 9000 family is primarily concerned with "quality
management" and is the one you are most likely to see
around. The quality management focus covers what the organization does to fulfil:
- the customer's quality requirements, and
- applicable regulatory requirements, while aiming to
- enhance customer satisfaction, and
- achieve continual improvement of its performance in pursuit of these objectives.
