your PC has a DVD drive we test it with a DVD movie. If your
PC has a modem we actually dial out with that modem. Apart
from burn-ins/soak tests, every PC has to pass over 40
individual user tests, manually done by two different engineers,
before we let it leave!
- We provide
separate Windows and driver disks with PCs. Almost all large
mail order PC firms provide only what they call a
"recover CD" or "backup CD". This contains just one image file
that'll theoretically restore your PC to "factory
condition". If your PC crashes the last thing you want is
to restore it
to factory condition, losing all your data! Firms use the
excuse that it's to prevent Windows being pirated, or that
they aren't allowed to supply the Windows CD. Don't believe
it. Separate Windows & driver CDs are your safest bet.
